If you're one of those folks that prefers to stretch your rifle out and aim for the tightest groups possible, then chances are good you've considered purchasing a bipod. But what if the majority of the popular offerings have you scratching your head thinking they're just a wee bit too dainty for your purposes? Well, then consider one of the new Versa-Pod 300s. The first Versa-Pod manufactured in America, it's comprised entirely of 4140 steel and 7075 aluminium, with every component being manufactured in Versa-Pod's factory in Atlanta. Not surprisingly then, the Versa-Pod 300 is about as robust as any rifle you're liable to stick it to, and can be had in a variety of configurations. Affixing to any rifle with a 1913-style picatinny rail, the Versa-Pod 300 can be ordered in either fixed or pan/tilt versions, and has a trio of leg options, ranging from the claw-like "Raptor" feet, to recoil-friendly skis, to the traditional rubber-tipped bench feet. Of course, being made entirely in America does mean it's a wee bit more expensive than Versa-Pod's other offshore-sourced bipods, with the MSRP sitting just north of $300.
