Two new Elite Tactical riflescopes from Bushnell

Bushnell has just added two new riflescopes to its Elite Tactical series, the new DMR3 3.5-21×50 FPP and XSR3 6-36×56.

The scopes are intended for different roles; the DMR3 is supposed to be a light and compact scope intended for engagements out to 1,000 yards. The XSR3 has the most magnification of any scope in Bushnell's Elite Tactical family, and is intended for extreme long-range duty, for competition or combat duty.

Both of Bushnell's new riflescopes come with a high-magnification ED Prime objective, and fully multi-coated elements (including a new reticle element coating and Bushnell's proprietary EXO Barrier dust/rain/scratch-proof coating). Bushnell says "The new coating pushes the limits of the ultrawideband coating system by increasing light transmission by nearly 2% over previous designs."

Both scopes have Bushnell's new G4P series. Bushnell designed this with input from G.A. Precision. It's based on the previous G3 reticle design, with a floating dot centre POA and holdover dots. Bushnell also says the reticle has " refined line widths, quick acquisition bars for low magnification settings, and a more open reticle space above the horizontal stadia," if those details are important to you.

Other standard Bushnell features include the ThrowHammer magnification leaver ("allowing a shooter to accommodate their particular rifle without concern of manipulation interference", says the press release), a Rev-limiter zero-stop elevation turret, a locking windage target turret, and a removable sunshade. Both scopes are IP67-rated for dust/waterproofing, with argon purging to prevent fogging. Both scopes have a single-piece 34 mm aluminum main tube.

Looking at the differences between these optics: The DMR3 scope has a 25-yard minimum parallax setting, with 32 MIL elevation travel and 20 MIL windage travel. Field of view is 25 feet at 100 yards on 3.5x power, and 5 feet at 100 yards on 21x power. The DMR3 is 13.2 inches long, and weighs 35.3 ounces.

The XRS3 has a minimum parallax setting of 50 yards, with locking diopter. It has 29 MIL elevation travel and 15 MIL windage travel. Field of view is 18 feet at 100 yards on 6x power; field of view is 3 feet at 100 yards on 36x power. The XRS3 is 14.9 inches long, and weighs 39 ounces.

Both scopes have Bushnell's 30-year warranty. The DMR3 has a $1,499 MSRP in the US (more details here) and the XRS3 has a $1,699 MSRP in the US (more details here). As with all shooting products from the US, the prices will rise in Canada because of the exchange rate, and due to current massive demand in the US, Canadian availability may be delayed.
