We’re in the process of assembling some bags for a gear shootout but this is too good not to give you a quick glimpse: the Mission Workshop Rummy. We got turned onto this manufacturer by some friends at Dark Star Gear, and they haven’t steered us wrong yet.
What we wanted: a trim, sleek, waterproof messenger bag in a fairly unobtrusive colour, that could get dragged to hell and back and keep on holding everything we needed for a short work trip or a day’s urban adventures.
What we got: a handbuilt, bombproof, easy-carrying bag that we think looks pretty damn presentable if you need it to. It’s made in the USA and while that’s not quite the same as made in Canada, hey, at least it’s our closest cousin.
And now we wait for the rest of the gear, most of which is already on the way. In the meantime: we're using the Rummy to up-armour our writing gear for trips through the fall weather.
