MARATHON GENERAL PURPOSE WATCH

Here are four very good reasons to like the Marathon General Purpose Quartz Watch: First, it is the only General Purpose Watch in Marathon's catalog that is comprised entirely of Swiss-made parts, but it does not command a premium price. Secondly, the cases are made from a polymer resin, like a Glock, and are similarly indestructible. Thirdly, they are always visible and easily read thanks to the available tritium tubes on the hands and face to ensure consistent night time illumination. And perhaps most importantly of all, they are assembled and sold right out of Marathon Watch Company's Canadian headquarters! A favourite of military personnel and hard-use watch fans, they can be found right on Marathon's own site or through a chain of licensed distributors for anything from $135 to $161, with price varying by model. The lineup includes watches with either radioactive (tritium) or inert (MaraGlo) illumination, in a black or olive drab polymer with matching nylon strap, and with or without a date function. For a hundred dollars more, a Navigator model is available with a rotating bezel.
