GERBER IMPROMPTU TACTICAL PEN

What to you get for the tactically-minded gun enthusiasts that has everything? Well, how about a tactical pen. Yes, you heard that right, a tactical pen. Produced by Gerber and most definitely the answer to a question no one asked, the Impromptu actually makes a certain degree of sense once you wrap your head around it. Made in the United States and constructed entirely of Cerakoted machined steel, it combines the practicality and writing prowess of a Rite-In-The-Rain ballpoint pen cartridge with the ruggedness of a Gerber multitool. So, how is it "tactical?" Well, although a perfectly usable pen (it even has a spring steel pocket clip, so it's tactical pocket protector compatible), the Impromptu also features a deployable tool steel pointy tip, intended to be used as a stabby-stabby tool under the most dire of circumstances, or a glass-breaking tool in slightly less dire, but still decidedly crappy situations. Mostly though, it's a nice, heavy, robust pen that works damned well and looks pretty cool. Think of it as a Mont Blanc for operators, except you won't need to spend hundreds to get one, as they're available for just over $50.
