Big Horn Armoury announces Canadian "expansion"

Want to buy a high-end lever gun, with bear-crushing power? Big Horn Armoury has just what you want; the company says it's now expanding into Canada.
The company's recent press release says "Big Horn Armory (BHA), makers of big-bore firearms, is pleased to announce it has secured partnerships with several of Canada’s premium gun dealers to stock all models and calibers of its lever-action rifles. Not only will these dealers have stock models available for purchase, but they will also be able to provide their customers with the ability to custom order a rifle to his or her exact specifications."
Based in Wyoming, Big Horn Armoury is best-known for US-built lever-action rifles chambered for big-bore cartridges such as .475 Linebaugh, 500 S&W Magnum and 460 S&W. More recently, Big Horn Armoury also branched out into semi-auto rifles based on AR designs. Don't expect to import those into Canada, though …
Big Horn Armoury's lever rifles are based on John Browning's designs, particularly the Model 1886 and Model 1892. The company's lever guns aren't all fuddy-duddy John Wayne-type rifles, though. Instead of blinging them out with Commemorative Edition medallions, Big Horn Armoury offers its lever rifles with modern features like skeleton stocks, fiber-optic front sights, CNC'd stainless steel construction, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and anti-corrosion finishes.
They're expensive, too. Big Horn Armoury's Model 89 and Model 90 lever-actions see MSRP start at $2,499 US and $2,849 US respectively. Add-ons like an octagonal barrel, scout scope mount, shorter/longer barrel or upgraded stock wood will drive the price far higher. Big Horn's website says buyers must pay a $600 down payment on their order. No doubt that's different if you're buying through Canada. If you're ordering a custom-built job (which the press release indicates will be available), expect to pay a chunk of change up front, for sure.

Canadian availability

In-the-know readers might be asking "Hey—weren't these rifles available in Canada already?" Yep, some Canadians got their hands on them before, with a bit of work, but it should be easier now. As per Big Horn Armoury's press release:

Canadian individuals looking to purchase a BHA lever-action rifle or Canadian dealers interested in carrying these quality crafted firearms, please contact Rob Dykeman, President of Stag Outdoors Sales & Marketing Inc., via email at rob@stagoutdoorsales.com or by calling (905) 805-4570.

Several well-known Canadian firearms retailers have already indicated they're carrying the line. If your local gunroom or favourite online dealer isn't carrying the line, Stag Outdoors should help you find a solution.
